The Toronto Maple Leafs needed overtime to beat the New York Rangers but the team and head coach Ron Wilson was happy with the effort. Though the leafs gave up yet another third period leads they bounced back played tough and scored in overtime to avoid the dreaded shootout.
Coming off the emotional playoff like game Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks and shootout hero Mats Sundin the mapl leafs played a very strong, disciplined and energetic game. Just goes to show how a boost from Sundin can energize a team and lead to a 3 point weekend.
